Tottenham Considering Selling Attacker Brennan Johnson.

Wales international Brennan Johnson
Brennan Johnson has earned forty-two times with the Welsh national team since his first appearance in 2020.

Tottenham Hotspur's Europa League final hero Brennan Johnson finds himself in an unclear situation in North London amid growing top-flight attention in his services.

Sources suggest that Tottenham, while not actively seeking to sell the Welsh international, are receptive to letting Johnson leave should they receive a substantial offer.

The Eagles are presently the club furthest along in their interest for Johnson, but other teams are said to be monitoring his situation with interest.

A Season of Mixed Fortunes

Johnson was Spurs' top Premier League goalscorer last season with 11 strikes, and etched his name in club history by scoring the decisive goal in their Europa League final victory against Manchester United last season, bringing to a close the club's 17-year wait for a trophy.

However, the exit of the previous manager and appointment of Thomas Frank has resulted in Johnson occupying more of a bit-part role this season.

The 24-year-old, has made only 6 Premier League starts under Frank.

Transfer Window Interest Mounts

As a result, a host of clubs have been alerted to his potential availability before the winter transfer window.

Given his lack of action and the prospect of a World Cup on the horizon with his national team, a transfer elsewhere from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium may suit Johnson next month.

Johnson joined Spurs from Nottingham Forest in a deal worth £47.5m in the summer of 2023 and has registered twenty-seven goals for the club.

The Situation

  • The Welsh international's position at Spurs is currently in doubt.
  • Tottenham is not pushing for a sale but would consider offers.
  • Crystal Palace are at the front of the queue, with further Premier League clubs interested.
  • A change of manager has limited his first-team opportunities this season.
  • The upcoming transfer window and international commitments could drive a January exit.
