Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, however can the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer team," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four games.

My son told me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
