President Trump Calls Families of Injured Guard Personnel to the White House

Former President Trump announced on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the executive mansion.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Devastating Event

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a attack on Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have taken place in their memory.

White House Invitation

The president said he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president told journalists. “And likewise with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Response

Community members assembled over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of the president’s government program to aid law enforcement in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“She was the type of pupil that instructors wished for. She behaved with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the head of her alma mater, stated to the Associated Press. “She was kind, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Steps and Government Adjustments

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The incident caused the Trump administration to suspend refugee claims and temporarily stop providing visas to possessors of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey mentioned on television.

Attorney general Pam Bondi told the program that she planned to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Impact of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with distinction, per the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had courage,” Morrisey addressed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
