Ariana Grande visited Singapore for the regional debut of Wicked: For Good

Passionate fans of the pop star are urging that a man who leaped a barrier and touched the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A viral video shows the individual from Australia pushing past photographers and rushing toward Grande while the cast walked down a yellow carpet accompanied by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the gathering by guards.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being arrested", though court documents revealed that he was due to be present on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was charged.

History of Event Invasions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a performance. His Instagram account contains recordings of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney performance in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last December.

"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," stated an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" one Instagram user wrote.

Fans Voice Worry Over the Star's Safety

Many followers accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the end of her 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring many.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote a further message on Instagram.

Some fans also faulted guards at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while others demanded digital services to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Response and Event Details

In videos shared widely, Grande seemed shocked when she was touched by the individual. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.

Hundreds of attendees had gathered in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good international debut in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had stood in line for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The movie, to be released on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a two-part interpretation of the acclaimed theatrical production Wicked, which centers on the surprising relationship between two very different sorceresses.

The show itself is a spin-off of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a light pink sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of the previous year in the UK, and earned 10 Academy Award nods, winning several for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
